Storyline/Plot
Despite his early trauma from a mystery red and yellow lightning strike that killed his mother and implicated his father, Barry Allen, a forensic scientist with the Central City police, leads a comparatively happy existence.
That all changes when Barry gets struck by lightning in his lab during a catastrophic particle accelerator accident.
Nine months after waking from a coma, Barry and his newfound companions at S.T.A.R labs discover that he can now move with superhuman speed.
Barry also discovers that he is just one of many people impacted by that incident, the majority of whom are abusing their abilities. Barry dedicates his life to combating threats like The Flash because he is determined to make a difference. He makes unexpected allies, but there are also unseen forces out to help and influence him for their own ends.
